EVENT NOW OVER

Event now concluded : You can clink the link below to watch the event in full. Thanks to everyone who attended and made for such an interesting evening.

On 1st February 2021, Green Skibbereen CLG hosted an online Conference on Climate Action and Sustainability in West Cork.

Green Skibbereen CLG is developing proposals in consultation with the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSH) for the development of a Climate Action Centre based at Myross Wood House and grounds, at Leap, Co. Cork, currently in the ownership of the Order. The Centre of Excellence for Climate Action and Sustainability at Myross House will be developed with inputs from the local community and other stakeholders.

Green Skibbereen CLG has secured funding from West Cork Leader Funding to undertake a feasibility study for the project and Green Skibbereen CLG has engaged consultants to undertake the feasibility study which we expect to be completed by end January 2021. The study will identify the physical requirements of the proposed activities for the upgrade of the property, in terms of repair, refurbishment, and any additional development (Brady Mallalieu Architects  – BMA).  The study, will also develop the business plan, and proposals for new uses of the house consistent with the overall philosophy of the MSH and having regard to best practice examples of such developments elsewhere (Exodea Consultants).
